With more and more of us getting older, it's not surprise that we want to hold on to our youthful appearance as long as possible, before signs of aging start to show up. One of the common problems many people have to deal with is acne. In fact, this common skin problem affects people of every age all around the world. There are several acne fighting solutions available to help you get rid of acne and skin care companies are developing new, innovative solutions to stay one step ahead of this age-old problem.

One of the developments some skin care companies are developing is an acne facial. If you've been dealing with acne at all, then you know the importance of keeping your skin clean and free of bacteria and excess oil. That's exactly what these types of facials help you do. In fact, they're designed to work as a deep skin treatment to rehydrate your skin and act as a cleanser as well. They also help minimize blemishes and blotches which are often caused by acne outbreaks.

Your local health store probably stocks several types of these acne facial products. In addition, like most products these days, you can also find them online. In fact, the Internet can be a great tool for finding these types of products.

As with most acne solutions, the results might vary from one person to the next since we all have slightly different reactions. Therefore, when you buy your first acne facial solution, you should keep this in mind.

Typically, the facial treatment will involve three parts: a cleaning portion, a steam massage and applying a face mask. The facial will help remove the dead layer of skin that's right on the surface and also helps wash away bacteria and other "gunk" that accumulates on your skin.

The steam massage will help increase blood flow through your skin which helps get rid of toxins. This also relaxes the facial muscles. The addition of steam to the process works to soften blackheads and whiteheads so they can be more easily removed.

Finally, the face mask is the last major step and this helps tone and moisturize the skin.

Acne facials can be a great addition (or alternative) to your existing acne fighting regimen. Another secondary benefit is that the procedure can actually be quite relaxing for you as well, so you might enjoy using an acne facial for more reasons that just the fact that it helps you get rid of acne. Anything that might give act as a stress reliever is usually a welcome addition to our hectic lives, so this might be something to consider also.

FACT: Acne affects 90% of people worldwide. I'm talking about the bumps of the blackhead, whitehead, and blemish persuasion. You know, good old-fashioned acne. We all hate it, but yet so many of us are doused with it at puberty. What on earth are the causes of acne? Could it really be chocolate? Was that mystery ever unraveled? Sadly I don't believe it was. In reality acne is caused by a number of things. Do you have any idea of what they? Well, after doing some research on my own, I think I have a better grasp on the pangs of pimples and what ignites breakouts on the faces of millions. Are you ready for a lesson in zits?

Back when I was a child, I often wondered about the causes of acne. Now, I'm talking about the teen years here. Maybe around 14 to be exact. I truly had no idea why I got pimples and a few of my pals did not. Of course I was thankful I never acquired the straight-up pizza face, but I honestly didn't aquire any blemishes at all. Who does? I kept hearing that raging teen hormones were amongst the main causes of acne. Oh, and of course if you consume loads of chocolate. That's always a big one. However, I never completely understood acne until I hit about 20. Of course by then the World-Wide-Web was in full swing and oodles of information was at my fingertips. It was definitely time to obtain what the real causes of acne are. After loads of surfing and reading professional opinions, I came to the truth about the causes of acne. First of all, chocolate has nothing to do with anything. It's purely urban legend? However, teen hormones do play a part. It seems that when we hit that puberty stage, our oil glands are going wild. This of course leads to oily skin, which can cause breakouts. It all has to do with your pores. If they're clogged, then you'll maybe acquire acne. Now, you don't want to disregard diet. Many people don't know it, but some of what we eat, excretes back through our pores. That could explain the foul odor some folks have. Furthermore, you always want to drink lots of water. Living healthy will surely decrease your chances of breaking out. Then there's the skin care side. This is certainly related to the primary causes of acne. If you're not properly taking care of your skin, then acne is probably inevitable. You need to find that balance. Your face needs gentle care or it will become outraged and break-out. Hop online and find the right products for your mug. But whatever you do, make sure you look after it.

Mitch Hampson is a successful Webmaster and publisher of How to Get Clear Skin so if you would like more information on this subject please checkout his website at http://www.beatacne.info

This article is shareware. Dealing with acne is often not an easy process, and the sheer number of acne relief preparations can make shopping for the right one a difficult and time consuming process.

When shopping for the best solution to the problem of body acne it is important to keep in mind that no two acne sufferers are the same. While asking family members and friends which acne medications worked best for them is a good way to start, it is important to remember that the product that worked for an older sibling or other family member may not work as well for you. Most acne sufferers will need to do a bit of experimenting to find out which products work the best. After you have determined which product or combination of products provides the most effective acne treatment and prevention, it is a good idea to keep a supply on hand in order to be able to treat future acne problems as quickly as possible.

That is because prompt treatment can make a great deal of difference when it comes to acne, and treating the problem right away can do a great deal to lessen the severity and shorten the duration of an outbreak.

The type of medication used is of course important, so as you shop around it is a good idea to get familiar with reading the ingredient labels. Knowing what exactly is in the acne medication you are considering, and knowing how effective the active ingredients are, will help you get the best value for the money. There are a number of proven acne treatment ingredients, such as benzoyl peroxide, that tend to show up in a number of different acne medications, and these tried and true products are a good thing to look for as you shop.

In addition there are a growing number of all natural acne treatment products on the market, and these natural products can be very effective as well. Some vitamin supplements, such as vitamin A and vitamin B5, have shown real promise when it comes to treating both body acne and acne of the face, so it is a good idea to become educated about these natural remedies and to determine if they are right for you.

Beyond these over the counter treatments for body acne there are a number of acne medications that are available by prescription, and these prescription medications can be quite effective. If you believe a prescription would be helpful to treat your acne it is important to consult with your family doctor to determine which medication is most appropriate.

Stella served as an assistant at a beauty clinic for 5 years before leaving to pursue a career as a beautician. That must be hard. But wait – there is still hope.

Read the following tips for getting rid of that problem:

1. Eat more fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds. You can easily create juices and smoothies using ripe fruit or consume one salad daily, even as just a side dish. You can also pop in nuts and dried fruits in between meals.

Brazil nuts have selenium while pumpkin seeds contain zinc – both these minerals are lacking in people with acne. So take in lots of these two.

2. Try to drink at least two liters of still mineral water daily. When the skin is dehydrated, dead skin cells remain on the skin which may block pores and promote acne.

3. If you have been prescribed antibiotics to control your acne, remember that antibiotics destroy all kinds of bacteria in your digestive tract – even good bacteria. Without good bacteria, you will have poor digestion, constipation, and be less able to absorb essential vitamins, minerals and nutrients.

This, in turn, may lead to increased acne production since your body cannot expel waste effectively. Toxins pass through your skin instead. To prevent this from occurring, replace the good bacteria in your digestive tract with a good quality probiotic.

4. You may try consuming some supplements since your diet may not incorporate every vitamin, mineral and nutrient necessary to getting and keeping clear skin. Some supplements are really helpful to people with acne, such as:

• Maca – This is a powdered root vegetable from Peru that balances and stabilizes the systems of your body while normalizing hormones. Maca also has a lot of essential amino acids, phytochemicals, fatty acids, and minerals such as iodine, silica, potassium, iron, magnesium and calcium.

• Manuka honey – This one possesses strong antibiotic, antiviral and antiseptic elements. It is great for the skin, as well as for digestive disorders.

5. Rely only on natural skin-care products. Many skin-care products on supermarket shelves have chemicals which can worsen your acne. Too many chemicals can strip your skin of its natural oils, meaning the skin will overproduce oil to compensate – thus blocking your pores and causing more acne to show up.

Use only products with natural ingredients or try to use fewer products to allow your skin to naturally heal.

Should you wear makeup, use formulas that are listed as non-acnegenic or non-comedogenic.

Some products you can use are:

• Tea tree oil body wash – This product can be used for the entire body, including the face.

• Tea tree oil – This product has antiseptic, antiviral and antibacterial functions. It is remarkable for use by acne sufferers. Use a cotton bud to apply this product to the acne blemishes.

• Neem soap – This product is very good for acne victims due to its antiparasitic, anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, anti-viral and antibacterial properties. It also calms and soothes irritated skin.

6. Cut down on stress as this acts as one of the strongest precursors of acne, especially after puberty. There are different ways you can reduce stress and aim for relaxation:

• Exercise – Moderate exercise such as Yoga and Tai Chi improve skin blood flow and support the healing process. It also boosts the condition of your internal organs which allows them to eliminate waste more effectively.

• Try relaxation techniques including meditation and breathing exercises.

7. Cut down on your consumption of sugar and refined carbohydrates. Recent research has shown that eating these foods triggers a process which leads to a production of too many male hormones. In turn, the skin is moved to excrete huge amounts of sebum which fosters the increase in skin bacteria - that triggers acne.

8. Lessen your consumption of caffeine because it hikes the level of stress hormones in the body, thus making acne worse.

9. Cut down on dairy and red meat products because these are difficult to digest and raise acid levels in the body. As you try to digest huge amounts of animal protein in your internal organs, your body cannot eliminate waste products well and these will be released through the skin – causing acne.

In addition, dairy and red meat have huge amounts of hormones. These raise the hormone levels in the body and trigger even more acne. Furthermore, symptoms of intolerance to dairy products can crop up as acne.

10. Get plenty of sunshine and fresh air. Sunshine triggers the production of Vitamin D which is essential to having healthy skin. Fresh air and sunshine will cut down on your stress levels and course oxygen through the skin. Learn to tell the amount of sunshine you need every day though, it does not help to get burnt in the sun.

Dave Poon is an accomplished writer who specializes in the latest in Skin Care. Although there are a lot of medicines and creams for back acne treatment, they're not all guaranteed to work on everyone, and some may even have side effects. Moreover, they are usually too expensive to be afforded by everyone.

Back Acne - A Disease

According to Dr. Stanley Burroughs, disease is the body's means for getting rid of toxins. Acne is a relatively less serious health problem but obviously, a nightmare for beauty conscious people. Acne vulgaris is the most common type of acne.

Acne is manifested because of the clogging or blockage in the pores of the sebaceous glands which are the oil secreting natural body moistures. The blockage of the follicles will lead to accumulation of sebum in the portion called the comedon. Propionicum acne, the bacteria, will get attracted to the site and cause inflammation by destroying the white blood cells. Non inflammatory acne also occurs. According to the difference in the clogging location, acne is classified into different sub types such as pimples, white heads, black heads, cysts and manula. It can occur in any age, but is more frequent in teenagers. On rare occasions, the outbreak of acne will grow and lead to moderate and severe type of acne. One of the most drastic consequences is its effects in the emotional well being of patients. Many patients have lost their confidence to go out in public and the result has been difficulties in relationships. The chance for permanent scaring is another potential harm.

Causes

Exact causes are not identified for acne, however, genetics, and hormonal changes are attributed to be the main reasons. Diet, age, pollution, and personal hygiene are also suspected as reasons.

Symptoms

The facial eruptions are the primary symptoms of acne. Certain types will form pus inside the inflammation and some will be slightly hard. Most of them will be tolerable; however, some will cause irritation, pain, tenderness, and itching.

Diagnosis

In most of the acne cases clinical diagnosis will not be essential. Physicians can easily diagnosis acne from external symptoms. In case of severe acne, an endocrinologist may refer for hormonal tests.

Treatment

Usually acne is treated using over the counter medicines in various forms such as lotions, ointments, and pads. However, in moderate and severe cases, the assistance of a dermatologist will be necessary. Physicians used to recommend drugs primarily to reduce bacterial infection and minimize the production of sebum. The comedolytic anti clogging drugs are also popular while Benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, azelaic acid (Azelex), isotretinoin and antibiotics are some of the common drugs for treatment. Many surface therapies such as dermabrasion, laser therapies and punching of skin are also treatment measures. Alternative medicines and herbal medicines also suggest many remedies.

Prevention

Often diet and habits are blamed for acne occurrence and even though no evidence supports such arguments, it is better to have a balanced diet and good health habits to prevent it. Regular cleaning of the face and avoidance of irritant cosmetics is essential to avoid clogging.

Jason Rickard is the owner of Your Favourite Shop - Offering White Noise and Relaxation CDs - Visit Hapa Health for more articles

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Jason_Rickard
